If you're looking for a neutral pink then this is the one for you! MAC's Pink Plaid is just the right shade of pink to add a bit of colour to your lips for a natural lip. Admittedly I have been lusting over Kylie Jenner's lips and how to achieve that fuller lip, originally I bought MAC's Brave which is also a lovely colour but it is more on the brown side of neutral and I am sometimes funny with a brown neutral when my make up is quite natural. I realise that I tend to buy stuff when I'm angry and this lipstick was definitely an anger buy but it was well worth the money as I've been waiting to find just the right shade for me. If you're wanting to buy a lip pencil then I would suggest Rimmel London's 'Eastend Snob' this matches perfectly with 'Pink Plaid' and it's at such a good price.
Benefit have finally released a new mascara exclusively to this months Elle so you can test it out yourself. At the moment I'm struggling to find a really good mascara and typically I have only just bought Benefits 'They're Real' and then they release this one. I tested this yesterday and I much prefer it to the 'They're Real' mascara, the Roller Lash wand has a slight curve to it to extend and curl the lashes. My lashes are quite straight and with the curve of the wand it really lifts them.
How amazing are the new Bold Metals collection by Real Technique?! I had to treat myself to one this one is the flat contouring brush, I have only just ventured in to contouring and so it seemed right to buy this one, that and I love rose gold. The price of these beauties range between 10 and 25 pounds but I would say if you are a big lover of the Real Technique brushes then of course they are definitely worth it! If haven't used brushes before and are wanting to try Real Technique brushes you can get the normal brushes in a set which is normally around £25.
You know when you have so many perfumes on your shelf but you're still not content with the ones you've got? Yeah well that's me all over! However it's always great when you do get a new perfume and you finally find your favourite one, mine (for the time being) is Marc Jacobs Daisy, the smell is so simple and lovely just like the bottle design itself the only issue with Marc Jacobs perfumes is that they don't last very long on your skin or clothing so I'm nearly 3/4's of the bottle down and I've only really had it for a month. If you are planning on buying yourself a new perfume I would suggest you go for this one.
I thought as I am suddenly obsessed with make up at the moment it would be a good idea to write my first blog post on my current make up purchases.
I'll start with my brushes, I used to use my hands to apply my foundation and now that I've converted to brushes I can see the difference. Real Technique brushes use synthetic hair but they feel like animal hair, they're lovely and soft on my face and makes apply my make-up an easy task. These are a reasonable price if you are keen to try them out.
Now I'm always forgetting how important primer is for your face and because I'm never too keen on it I decided to find a cheap primer with great reviews via the help of Pinterest. I decided to buy the Elf primer in a green tone to help reduce redness, I personally don't like the feel of it when it's on your face as it does feel quite oily/ silky however when foundation is applied over the top you can see the difference, it creates a lovely even skin effect.
After a long process of review reading I finally managed to change my foundation, my skin is ridiculously fussy with what I put on it and I hate having a foundation that cakes my skin, as you'll soon notice I have a few freckles and a thick foundation doesn't look right on my skin. However with the joys of christmas vouchers I bought myself the Urban Decay foundation and it is wonderful, it covers my blemishes and evens out my skin tone without it feeling like I'm wearing a mountain of foundation.
I am a big eyeliner lover and once I find a product that's right for me I stick to it I originally used a crayon style eyeliner and when benefit release their new eyeliner I had to try it out! I will now never go back to my old eyeliner because this one is perfect. It does take a while to get used to what with me being cack handed I did struggle to get used applying it but once you get the technique you won't regret buying it. With eyeliner comes the eyeshadow palette and I do love creating a lovely smokey eye look using the pigmented colours from Urban Decay's Naked Palette 2, inside the box you will receive 4 small samples of eye primer which enhance the pigments more.
Eyebrows, last but not least the most important feature, the slightest problem with them can change your whole face. With the help of an eyebrow pencil alongside the Benefit Brow-zing this little tool will create the perfect eyebrow it again doesn't look too caked on.
